Tired of taking ever-increasing amounts of drugs to try to keep your chronic pain at bay? Dr. Marcantel has a 5-week natural pain management program for people suffering from  fibromyalgia, neuropathy, low back pain, muscle strains, cervical pain, and many other complaints. Check the web site for details about the program, including the treatment plan and costs.

Here's a great healthy taste treat our friend Nancy from North Carolina recently introduced us to: Wild Salmon Burgers from Omega Foods. These are quarter-pound patties that you can cook straight from the freezer. They're fast, delicious, and full of omega-3 fatty acids. We've found them at Costco and Sprouts. Try it! (Thanks, Nancy.)

Do you get leg cramps at night? Cramps are often caused by a lack of electrolytes in the system. Ask your doctor about taking one or two capsules or tablets of a magnesium supplement before going to bed. Magnesium is an important electrolyte that many people are deficient in; by replenishing your supply, you may get a better night's rest. (Be sure to check with your health provider first, particularly if you are on other medications.)

If you are a frequent visitor to our web site, be sure to stop in at the "What's New" page first to learn about recent additions and updates to the site.

Also, we've recently added an "Articles Index" to make it easy to find all the articles by Dr. Marcantel on the site--including her recent article on why she recommends stevia to her patients as the best alternative sweetener. Just use the Articles Index button on the left navigation bar to get to the page.

COMING SOON: A support group for diabetics meeting in Mesa. Watch for information in this newsletter and on our web site.

Have you visited The Reading Room at DrMarcantel.com? That's where we post links to off-site articles of interest for our visitors. We've just added several new articles about recent medical studies that you may find of interest:

*The link between obesity and ovarian cancer

*The drug Avandia for the prevention of type 2 diabetes--the good news and the bad news (and the important way to avoid the bad news!)

*Why keeping your ovaries when you undergo a hysterectomy might be a wise choice

To find these and many other articles of interest, just go to The Reading Room at DrMarcantel.com and click on the links that you find there.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a painful problem that can often be controlled with a proper diet and by avoiding "trigger" foods (including artificial sweeteners) that can set off symptoms. Read Dr. Marcantel's new article about it.

*******************

Why is Dr. Marcantel's weight loss plan different from all the others you've tried? For one thing, you will be monitored by a physician every step of the way. For another, this isn't another "diet." Dr. Marcantel will work with you to help you understand why certain foods affect you in certain ways, why specific combinations of foods can be good or bad for you, and even why you may be overeating to compensate for other problem areas in your life. Knowledge is power, and once you understand the "why" of weight management, you'll have the power to control your weight. Why wait? Give us a call now to start on the road to a healthier you!
