My Personal HCG Testimonial
by Dr. Tina Marcantel
Dr. Marcantel tried the HCG diet herself before she would recommend it to her patients. She was both surprised and convinced by the results. Dr. Tina Marcantel is a naturopathic doctor in Gilbert, Arizona, who also serves the East Valley cities of Mesa, Scottsdale, Tempe, Chandler, Apache Junction, and Queen Creek, and the greater Phoenix area.
I first heard about the HCG diet from a patient in 2008. She had tried the diet with success after visiting another doctor and she wanted to know what I thought about it. I’m no fan of fad dieting or most quick-loss plans and after learning about the severe calorie restrictions the diet called for I was very skeptical. Actually, I dismissed the idea as another fad and didn’t spend much time researching it.
Over the next year I heard more from time-to-time about the diet and several patients approached me about it. I decided it was time to spend some time researching it after hearing reports of many people getting excellent results. After reading the original Simeons protocol, Pounds and Inches, along with numerous online articles and interviewing a number of people who had direct experience with the diet, I decided it was time to try it myself.
Like many others, as I entered the perimenopause and menopause stages of my life I gained unwanted weight. Even though I was eating well and exercising regularly there were stubborn pounds and inches I just couldn’t seem to get rid of. Since the HCG diet was supposed to target stored fat without affecting muscle tissue, I thought I would put it to the test. I was both surprised and convinced by the results:
*Lost a total of 22 lbs. in 6 weeks
*Lost approx 20″ total
*Went from a tight size 10 to a size 6
*I maintained my energy level throughout the diet (I actually felt I had more energy than usual at times)
*I had plenty of energy to continue my exercise routine all during the diet
*After the first couple of days I felt little hunger even though I was on very restricted calories
*I did not have the gaunt facial features that often come with quick-loss programs
After completing the three weeks maintenance phase of the diet and resuming my normal eating habits I’ve maintained my weight loss. I’m now ready to start a second round of the diet to finish losing the last few pounds I need to shed to get to my target weight.**
In short, I believe that this is a reasonable weight loss program for people who have tried other methods–including proper nutrition and exercise–but who just can’t seem to shed those stubborn pounds. I know it has worked for me.
UPDATE: After completing my second round I’ve lost a total of about 32 pounds!
