What to Expect on Your First Visit
With Dr. Marcantel
Dr. Tina Marcantel is a naturopathic doctor practicing in Mesa,
Arizona, and serving Gilbert, Chandler, Tempe, Scottsdale, Queen Creek, Apache Junction, and other cities in the East Valley and the greater Phoenix area.
If your appointment with Dr. Marcantel is your first visit to a naturopathic
physician, you may be in for a pleasant surprise. The object is not to
get you in and out of the office as quickly as possible. After you complete
the necessary paperwork, Dr. Marcantel will want to do a physical exam and get a
complete medical history–for starters. She then will want to actually get to
know you as a patient, and that involves taking time to talk through the
specific complaint you have and then discussing pertinent areas of your life
that may be relevant to your complaint. This includes what sort of diet or
exercise routine you may be on, sources of stress that could be affecting your
health, and numerous other possible areas.
The first visit typically lasts one hour.
After your initial intake visit, Dr. Marcantel will develop a
protocol specifically designed for your needs. This may include a personalized
diet plan, recommended dietary supplements, specific lifestyle changes, lab
tests, changes in medication (coordinated with your primary care physician, if
necessary), stress management counseling, and continuing education on your
disease process.
