Specialty Labs and Tests Offered by Dr. Marcantel

Specialty labs can help pinpoint the root causes of many health problems. Dr. Tina Marcantel is a naturopathic doctor in Mesa, Arizona, who also serves the East Valley cities of Scottsdale, Tempe, Chandler, Gilbert, Apache Junction, and Queen Creek.

Female/Male Hormone Salivary Testing As we age, our hormone levels decrease. This decrease or imbalance can cause moodiness, irritability, depression, anxiety, insomnia, low libido, hot flashes, weight gain, and memory loss. A simple salivary collection test kit is sent home with the patient to perform the test in the privacy and convenience of his/her home.

Adrenal Testing The natural decline in adrenal hormones leads to chronic fatigue, Fibromyalgia, inability to focus, decreased metabolism and overall lack of motivation. The adrenal glands are responsible for helping us to handle stress in our lives. The adrenal output of Cortisol can be measured by collection of saliva.

Depression, Anxiety & Insomnia Panels Neurotransmitters regulate our mood and sense of well being. A simple urine sample provides indications of neurotransmitter levels allowing for targeted nutritional and amino acid therapy to balance and optimize mood and create a greater sense of well being. Neurotransmitter testing treats the underlying imbalances without the use of medication and can even reduce dependence on medication.

Food Sensitivity Testing This test has proven accurate in identifying the relevant foods and substances associated with many types of chronic inflammatory and metabolic disorders. The common foods you are eating may be causing a reaction from your body which produces symptoms of bloating, gas, headaches, insomnia, respiratory problems or a skin rash. A simple blood test can determine those foods your body may be sensitive to.

FIA – Functional Intracellular Analysis A simple blood test that measures nutrient status which includes vitamin, mineral, and antioxidant deficiencies. “50% of those taking multivitamins are still nutritionally deficient.” – William Shive, University of Texas at Austin. With identification of specific vitamin and mineral deficiencies, Dr. Marcantel can give appropriate treatment with the use of supplements, food instruction and/or IV therapy.

LPP test- Lipoprotein Particle Profile is an advanced test that accurately assesses your risk for heart disease by measuring the size/density and number of your LDL and HDL lipoprotein particles. There are different sizes of LDL and HDL particles and some are much more dangerous than others.

According to the (NCEP) National Cholesterol Education Program guidelines, 50% of people who have a heart attack have normal cholesterol levels.
