Do you like a meaty sandwich but you’re trying to cut back on those cholesterol-filled burgers? Here’s a good substitute.

Large portabella mushroom

1/2 onion, sliced

2 tablespoons canola oil

Coat bottom of frying pan with oil. Remove stem from mushroom and sprinkle with your favorite seasonings (I like Tony Chachere’s Creole Seasoning). Sauté onions and mushroom over medium-high heat until mushroom softens. Eat it like a burger on whole wheat or Ezekiel bread.
